Lolita fashion originated in Japan. It's pretty common that in Harajuku you can see two young girls dressed in elaborated clothing, with beautiful frilly dresses. This fashion appeared in the 80s and takes up the Victorian aesthetic, adapted to the « Kawaii » taste that the Japanese appreciate so much.
Although each Lolita outfit has common inspirations (Victorian style, platform shoes, knee-length dresses), each style has additional inspirations that make the outfits vary.
For example, we can see the Country Lolita, inspired by the western countryside, the Sailor Lolita, inspired by sailor's outfits, or the Shiro or Kuro Lolita, who bet on their outfits in all white, or all black.
Let's discover today the « Steampunk » Lolita...
Steampunk Lolita is a style derived from the Lolita fashion, where steampunk inspirations are mixed with the cute Victorian style of the Lolita.
The steampunk, with its gears, clocks and its bronze, brown and cream colour palette, offers all the accessories you need to mix genres! The outfits also have leather elements in some cases, such as corsets.
This original creation from the Atelier Perséphone is showing a cute and elaborated Steampunk-inspired dress. For this one, the main colours are red (Bordeaux red), inspired by bravery and fire. The enamel pin can be easily attached to your clothes or to a tote bag thanks to the presence of two butterfly ties.
