Lolita fashion originated in Japan. It would not be rare, in Harajuku, to see two young women dressed in a sophisticated manner, with beautiful frilly dresses. This fashion appeared in the 80s and takes up the Victorian aesthetic, adapted to the « Kawaii » taste that the Japanese appreciate so much.
Although each Lolita outfit has common inspirations (Victorian style, platform shoes, knee-length dresses), each style has additional inspirations that make the outfits vary.
We can for example see the Sweet Lolita, with many frills and soft accessories, the Country Lolita, inspired by the western countryside, or the Guro Lolita, derived from the word « Gore », which plays on a more frightening and bloody aesthetic.
Let's discover today the « Wa » Lolita...
Wa Lolita is a style derived from the Lolita fashion, where the traditional Japanese kimono is mixed with the cute inspirations of the Lolita. This style is more complex than the others because the origin of the traditional Japanese kimono is sophisticated too: the fabrics are complex, the patterns with inspirations coming from far in the past, with a real millenary history. These outfits can be much more complex to make but also so beautiful!
This original creation from the Atelier Perséphone declines today the Japanese-inspired version of the well-known Lolita Fashion. Wa Lolita is inspired by the western and oriental culture of Japan, a beautiful mix of our diverse cultures... It makes our pin details a dress as sophisticated as it is authentic.
